We catch up with the busy indie director again |
|

Entertainmentopia recently had the chance to follow up with one of our first interviewees, Alex Ferrari, director of BROKEN, an independent film reviewed over two years ago here at Entertainmentopia. We'd thought it be a good idea to check in, see what was happening, and what Alex had on tap.

Tell is a little about Red Princess Blues. What can we expect from this twisted tale?

Well, Princess' thirst for revenge against the people who wronged her, takes her on a twisted "Wizard of Oz" style journey of love, honor and vengeance. I'll be shooting some scenes this summer in hopes to get the rest of thefinancing. I have spoken to a handful of stars and they have shown interest.

The Enigma Factory seems to really have come into its own over the last few years, what has been the process with that? |
| AF |
I have tried to venture out and develop other projects so I can grow. I just finished a new short film called Cyn. Cyn is a trimmed down version of a longer script I created for myupcoming feature film project called Red Princess Blues. As I developed the Princess short film I noticed that it had less and less in common with my characters and storyline of my feature project.
So when I made the Top 100 (out of over 12,000) of Steven Speilberg's On the Lot and they ask me to create a short film in 6 days, Cyn was born. Done for under $1000, Cyn brings together an amazing group of talented people. Without these remarkably talented friends and professionals, Cyn would have never made it's six day schedule. When did you decide to put together a book detailing the art from your short film BROKEN? Was it something you planned from the start or realized one day, Hey, this is some really great stuff, we should publish this? |
| AF |
The latter. I was hanging out one day with Dan Cregan and Ken Robkin and we started talking about how much great artwork we have for BROKEN the short and feature. So we decided to package in into a book. Really we just wanted a cool artbook to show people but the orders are coming in. |

You got to be involved in some pretty cool stuff, what can you tell us about your future and the future of your projects in the pipeline? |
| AF |
I am pretty much focusing on Red Princess Blues and have the other two parts of the "Trilogy of Violence" in the works. |

Entertainmentopia would like to thank Alex for taking time away from his busy schedule to talk to us and follow up on the world of BROKEN. The book ART OF BROKEN will be available this summer from http://www.deviant-comics.com. Be sure to check it out and look for Ferrari's name on art house light boards soon.
